LIZA

LIZA is a renowned Lebanese restaurant with locations in Paris, Beirut, and Riyadh, known for reinterpreting traditional Lebanese cuisine through a refined, contemporary lens. Blending heritage, hospitality, and modern dining culture, LIZA has become a reference for elevated Lebanese gastronomy internationally.

We were commissioned to design the 2025 maamoul box for LIZA, translating the brand’s cultural heritage into a refined packaging experience. The concept draws from the atmosphere of springtime in Lebanon — moments of gathering, tradition, and familiarity — expressed through a contemporary visual language that reflects LIZA’s identity while honoring its roots.

“J’ai voulu capturer le sentiment du mois d’avril au Liban, ce que les maamouls évoquent chaque année : le retour à Beyrouth pour fêter Pâques en famille, les premiers rayons de soleil qui annoncent l’été, cette chaleur douce qui emplit le cœur. C’est un moment hors du temps, une reconnexion aux racines, à la montagne, à la Méditerranée.

J’ai imaginé un après-midi chez Teta et Jeddo, après le grand déjeuner du dimanche. Le café turc fume sur la table, Teta lit dans les tasses de chacun, et au loin, les plaines du Liban s’étendent sous la lumière dorée. L’odeur de l’arguile flotte dans l’air, les Almaza trinquent, et les chaises en plastique – si inconfortables et pourtant si familières – rassemblent tout le monde. Elles ont tout vu, ces chaises. Elles portent les rires, les histoires, les silences partagés. Elles sont plus qu’un simple objet du quotidien : elles font partie du décor de nos souvenirs.”

The box was recently selected for LIZA’s opening in Riyadh, where it was offered to 600 guests as part of the inauguration experience. Designed as a meaningful takeaway, it extended the brand’s storytelling beyond the table, turning the packaging into a lasting object connected to memory, hospitality, and celebration.
